What a great piece of news this is!
Pieces is a sleazy, trashy, B-movie Slasher Exploitation flick that terrified the hell out of us as kids, and now we're going to get to see it in glorious, re-mastered 4K? Honestly, this announcement excites us as much as the Blu-ray release of The Beyond did when it was announced earlier this year.
When we reviewed Pieces (check it out HERE), we only gave it a C-. What we need to stress here is that the movie earned that grade because it's a cheap B-movie that isn't all that great on a filmmaking level. As far as its entertainment value goes though, especially if you like shameless nudity and bloody, gory kills, it's a solid A.
Now that it's going to look all crisp and clean, and we're going to see two different cuts of the film, we'll take another look at its overall grade, because you never know, it might just play better this time around.
Either way, we'll be pre-ordering this bad boy asap. So should you.
