It's not easy trying to decide which are the "Best" movies of any 10 year period, and these lists may not be perfect, but they are at least a good representation of the finest that the Horror Genre has to offer.
Carry on...
The big story of the decade so far is that Horror is big on TV. Shows like The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Hannibal (and about 50 other Horror & Genre properties) have dominated our DVR's, and entertained us week in and week out... and the trend doesn't look to be slowing down at all.
On the movie side of the Horror fence, it's VOD that has taken over and given life to many smaller Horror flicks. Many of the smaller, more Indie efforts can now find more viewers across multiple platforms, which allows them to make more of a profit, which allows films of their kind to keep being made, which allows fans like us to keep enjoying them. VOD is the new Video Store, and it is a great thing.
Of course, remakes, Found Footage, and B-grade movies are more plentiful than ever, but any Horror fan knows that you always have to sift through a ton of garbage to get to the gold.
At the halfway point of the decade, we can honestly say that Horror has been very good to us over the last five years. We've been given some excellent films to enjoy, and if things keep going the way that they are, 2016-2019 will be even better.
- We've included a few more obscure movies in the Honorable Mention section below, because they're favorites of ours, and we always urge people to check them out.
So here are the 50 Best Horror Movies of the 2010’s. If you’re looking to explore the genre, then these are the movies of The New Millennium that you should start with. The movies in the Top Six are timeless and essential (at least to us), but so are many of the ones that make up the rest of the 50. You should really explore them all.
Great list! Wev'e had some beauts in the 00's. Can't wait to seee your throughts on this years films.
ReplyDeleteI usually do our "Best of" lists for the year the first Monday after Christmas.Fells better than trying to do them during Christmas week for some reason.
DeleteSo next Monday, The Best, The Worst, The Middlins, Hottties, TV, and the 10 Blu-ray's of 2015 will begin :)
Awesome list I thought it was impossible to see someone else seen all these too. The Conspiracy, These Final Hours, and The Seasoning House. Were good, and I'm surprised someone else has seen the three of them. A lot of these such as those go unnoticed.

LOVED all three of those. And yeah, they are definitely 3 movies that a lot of people probably didn't catch... which is exactly why I highlighted them.
DeleteAlmost didn't include These Final Hours here though, because it's not really Horror, but that film got me in my emotional place, so I said screw it lol
I've seen all except two or three here.

The director contancted us and gave us a screener. It was definitely one of our favorite screener movies that we've ever been given access to.
DeleteThis top six list sucks the honorable mentions are way better and I think I saw the devil is overrated
ReplyDelete@Jason Hobbs, what do you think the top six should be? Not that I full agree.
