Trailer: The Strangers: Prey At Night (2018)

"A family staying in a secluded mobile home park for the night are visited by three masked psychopaths, to test their every limit."

We absolutely loved The Strangers (read our review HERE), and we've been waiting for a sequel ever since we saw it way back in 2008... and now we're finally getting one!

And it looks pretty good.

Not that it matters I guess, but the people under the masks are all different this time, and Bailey Madison annoyed us when she was a kid, but Christina Hendricks is money, so we'll go into this one hoping for the best.

The Strangers: Prey At Night hits theaters on March 9th, 2018.

Trailer: Deadpool 2 (2018)

"After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover."

Just reading the above official synopsis makes it clear that everyone involved in the Deadpool movies knows exactly what they're doing. Add to that this teaser trailer, which mostly shows Deadpool doing his best Bob Ross, and how in the hell can we be anything but excited to see the movie, no matter what it ends up being about?

The first movie rocked, and with the addition of Cable and Domino to the mix, things are only going to get bigger and badder in the sequel. And no doubt, funnier.

Deadpool hits theaters everywhere June 1st, 2018.

"Dario Argento’s masterpiece of horror comes to home video from Synapse Films in an exclusive new 4K restoration from the original uncut, uncensored 35mm Italian camera negative and with the original 4.0 English surround sound, for the first time EVER! SUSPIRIA is presented in its original glory for its 40th Anniversary!

The set will include two Blu-rays + 1 CD. The film will be on its own Blu-ray disc, to maximize the quality for both picture and sound, with most extra features being on a separate Blu-ray. The set will be Region A locked."

It's finally happening!

For many Horror fans, Suspiria is the Holy Grail, and rightly so. Based on color schemes alone the film is a piece of art. Add in Argento's visual flair, some wickedly inventive and graphic death scenes, and a haunting (as always) Goblin score, and you have one of the purest, most enjoyable Horror experiences you're likely to ever have. Plus, who doesn't like creepy witches?

If anyone can give this all-time classic film the Blu-ray restoration treatment that it deserves, it's definitely Don May and the folks over at Synapse. They've spent the last 4 years working on this new 4k transfer, frame by frame, and after the stellar job that they did with Curtains (read the review HERE), they have our undying loyalty, and we'll be ordering a copy of Suspiria immediately. Let us not forget the excellent job they did with their Tenebrae, Phenomena, Demons 1 & 2, and Prom Night discs as well.

This is bound to be the Horror Blu-ray release of 2017, and at a limited run of only 6000 copies, you'd better pre-order yourself a copy now. You can do that right HERE.

November's Blu-ray of the Month: Wind River (2017)

http://amzn.to/2B7qvv3
"Wind River is a chilling thriller that follows a rookie FBI agent (Olsen) who teams up with a game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past (Renner) to investigate the mysterious killing of a local girl on a remote Native American reservation."

Wind River is the kind of movie that remonds us exactly why we love movies. It's an excellent movie from start to finish. Its script is air-tight, it has cold and deary atmosphere to spare, and the cast is top-notch. It's one of the most engaging thrillers that we've seen in a long time, which is saying something given how sparse and quiet it is overall.

Wind River is hitting Blu-ray on December 14th, and it's one that we're adding to our collection on day one. So should you.

Special Features:
  • Behind-the-Scenes Video Gallery
  • Deleted Scenes

UPDATED: What's New on TV This Week?

http://thehorrorclub.blogspot.com/p/tv.html
*Check out all of our Release Date Pages: Blu-ray & DVD, Theatrical, VOD, TV.

Let's be honest here: great TV shows are hard to find.

Sure, we all have different tastes that dictate what's good and what isn't, but damn it all if the shows that have compelling narratives, great acting, and solid production values aren't few and far between.

The shows in our current Top Six are the ones that thrill us the most.

  • We're currently binging the final season of Longmire, and let me just say that there's something special about the show that we can't get enough of. We're sad to see it ending, but we're loving how it's going so far.
  • The Punisher has been great so far, and it might be the best Marvel TV show to date, Netflix or otherwise.
  • The second season of The Exorcist has been WAY better than we thought it would be, and WAY, WAY better than its cheesy first season. If you haven't checked out this truly creepy show yet, start with season 2 and enjoy.
  • Stranger Things we don't need to say much about. You already know.
  • Riverdale is a guilty pleasure that entertains us way more than it should.
  • And The new season of The Walking Dead is good, but we have to admit that it's losing a bit of its luster. Let's hope it shines again soon.

You can check out everything of note that's currently airing, or that's coming soon over the next few months, and be sure to set your DVR's so you don't miss out.
