Below, you'll find the Killer Animal flicks that work best for us; some are intense, some are creepy, some are funny, while most of them are just plain old fun.
- If you take a blind chance on any of these movies, we recommend that it be Burning Bright, Rogue, or Into the Grizzly Maze (Red Machine), as they are all three great movies, and are all completely underrated.
- The Breed and Black Sheep are pretty great too.
If you're in the mood for a truly quality Killer Animal flick, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For our money, Cujo and Jaws are probably the best of them, but then again they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the Killer Animal Sub-Genre, so enjoy them all!
*Most of the links go to Amazon so that you can stream or grab yourself a copy of the movies; our review of the movie (when applicable); or in the case of some of the older & more obscure titles, IMDB, because they simply aren't available to stream or purchase.
The problem with a lot of animal flicks is that they aren't anything special outside of suspense and wicked kills. However, you go the essentials down. Cujo and Jaws lead the pack for me. And I love that you mentioned Man's Best Friend! I used to love that movie as a kid. It's been ages since I've seen it. I need to see if I can Amazon a cheap copy of it. Very creative post, I dig it.
ReplyDeleteI remember renting Man's Best Friend on VHS!
DeleteMost Killer Animal flicks exist to be fun, and most of that ends up being silly fun. For a change of pace though, they work sometimes.
Wild Beasts (1984) - Directed by Franco Prosperi is bar far my favorite, most insane killer animal film.
ReplyDeleteSome other include: The White Buffalo, Great White, Shaw Brother's Killer Snakes, Empire of the Ants, Crocidile Evil, Kiler Crock, Deadly Bees, the Giant Spider Invasion, The Swarm, and Kraithong the story of a giant killer croc running wild.
