As teenage boys in the 80's, it was pretty much a rule that she had to be one of our crushes. She was just that cute.
She never really became a Scream Queen until 2004 when Saw was released, and that was mainly because she doesn't really like Horror movies, as even her own movies tend to scare the shit out of her, but that's cool with us; she's given us Horror fans some great performances in some great movies over the years, and that's all we can really ask for.
Plus she's wicked hot, so she can do whatever she wants. That's just how it goes.
So take a minute to celebrate the career of Shawnee Smith with us, and then look at her pictures and feel free to drool a little bit. No one's going to judge you for doing that. We sure won't.
"I don't like to see a scary image because it sticks in my mind, which is maybe why I get hired to do the scary movies because I'm truly scared and upset (while filming.)"The hottest thing about Shawnee Smith, other than her actual hotness, is that she's a cool chick; she's a singer in a band, and from what we know of her, she definitely lives the Rock n' Roll lifestyle.
She'll always be Meg Penny from The Blob to us though.
First time I caught her was on reruns of the sitcom Becker. When I saw her as Amanda in Saw, with that device on her head, I thought it was just a role and she wouldn't go on to achieve Scream Queen status, but it sure seems she has.
ReplyDeleteI first remember seeing her in The Blob, then she kinda disappeared until the time around Becker and Saw, and I didn't think she'd ever be a Scream Queen either. But hey, good for her :)
