What's New on VOD This Week? (10/4-10/7)

October is wasting absolutely no time in giving us quality VOD titles to watch, as this first week of the spookiest month of the year drops 15 new treats in our goodie bag. Alright, maybe a few of them are tricks, but they mostly look like goodies to us.

*Be sure to click the pics below to rent the movies, or watch their trailers. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?

*If you aren't already a member, you should really give Amazon Prime a shot, especially if you order movies on the regular like we do, because the free two-day shipping pays for itself after around 10 orders. Check it out for free HERE.

Here are this week's VOD releases, ranked in order from our most to least anticipated.

  • Under the Shadow looks phenomenal and it garnered some solid reviews when it ran the Festival Circuit, so it's #1 with a bullet this week.
  • 6 Plots, All Through the House, and ClownTown are all smaller, B-grade movies, but their trailers look good, and we're really curious to check them out.
  • We're excited to watch Phantasm: Ravager, and we hope that it will be a fitting end to a much beloved series.
  • Phantasm, Phantasm III, and Phantasm IV are also available on VOD this week in new HD versions. * The Scream Factory version of Phantasm II is also out there to stream, but it's not new this week.
  • Goddess of Love looks like a sexy, psychologically-challenging good time.
  • Not sure what to make of The Greasy Strangler. It doesn't look like our kind of film, but it maybe it will surprise us.
  • Even though it got bad reviews when it was in theaters, we're curious see what Lights Out is all about. We're suckers.
  • Star Trek Beyond might be a fun watch, when we're in a Big Budget Sci-Fi kind of mood.
  • And as much as we love Kevin Smith, Yoga Hosers looks awful.
  • Happy streaming.

  1. Lights out had great reviews on rotten tomatoes for awhile. I was kinda shocked. We saw it in the theater and thought it was pretty good. It had some different aspects than other movies of its type
