One of our favorite movies, and one of the best vampire movies ever made, Tobe Hooper's made-for-tv classic, Salem's Lot, is finally hitting Blu-ray on September 20th! We're so happy that our mascot, The Master, is finally getting some long-deserved love from Warner Bros. Home Video, as they're usually really stingy about giving their older vault titles new Blu-ray releases.

It's not going to be a disc that is heavy on special features and extras, but we're just glad that it's finally getting a new HD transfer.

"Burbank, CA, August 17, 2016-Horror fans are sure to rejoice when a terrifying trio of Stephen King's screen adaptations -- "Salem's Lot, "Stephen King's Cat's Eye" and "Stephen King's It" (a best-seller on DVD and one of King's most popular TV miniseries)debuts with all-new 2016 high definition masters on Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, just in time for a haunting Halloween on September 20.

Sinister events bring together a writer (David Soul) fascinated with an old hilltop house; a suave antiques dealer (James Mason) whose expertise goes beyond bric-a-brac; and the dealer's mysterious, pale-skinned "partner" (Reggie Nalder) in "Salem's Lot" -- a blood-curdling shocker based on King's novel and directed by Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist).

Special Features:

  • All-new Feature-Length Audio Commentary by Director Tobe Hooper
  • International Theatrical Trailer

Don't miss out on this classic flick.

  1. One of the BEST horror films ever made! When this mini-series debuted on living room screens back in 1979, it was touted as 'one of the scariest productions ever made for television!" Thirty-seven years later, the first televised adaptation of Stephen King's classic tale of vampirism still holds up as a great 'spooker' for Halloween night!
David Soul turns in a solid portrayal as novelist and former resident of the stricken New England town of Jerusalem's Lot. In a rare and appropriately chilling performance as the town's mysterious antique dealer, Straker, is veteran British actor, James Mason. But, without any doubt, the darkest character lies in the unspeakably evil persona of the master vampire, Barlow! Austrian born actor, Reggie Nalder brings the sinister creature an eerie semblance to the earlier actor, Max Schreck in 'Nosferatu!' Unlike his predecessor, however, Nalder's 'Barlow' is a menacing, shrieking demon from the darkest realms of a nighmare! With ominous, burning eyes and rat-like fangs, Barlow is the quintessential 'boogey man!'
On Blu Ray, this iconic, television horror hit will earn even more praise for the cult favorite it has become to horror fans worldwide!
