HOLIDAYS
"Holidays is an anthology feature film that puts a uniquely dark and original spin on some of the most iconic and beloved holidays of all time by challenging our folklore, traditions and assumptions."

With stories from the directors of Starry Eyes, The Pact, Some Kind of Hate, The Midnight Swim, Legion, along with Kevin Smith himself, Holidays looks like it might be one hell of an entertaining Horror Anthology. Halloween, Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, New Year's Eve... this one looks like it's going to cover them all. Probably Arbor Day too.

Holidays is #1 on our Must See list this weekend.

Rent it, because it looks awesome.

KRAMPUS
"When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family's home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive."

Krampus was a great Holiday Horror movie that entertained us from start to finish. It did feel as if they held back on some gore and violence so that the movie could appeal to a wider audience with its PG-13 rating, but hey, it works really well the way that it is, so no harm, no foul.

We really loved this one.

Rent it, because it's fun.

13 CAMERAS
"Claire and Ryan, a newlywed couple, move into a new house across the country, only to find out that their marital issues are the least of their problems. Unbeknownst to them, Their grim and lascivious landlord has been spying on them from day one."

13 Cameras looks like a genuinely unsettling Found Footage flick, and the advance reviews have been mostly positive, so we'll be giving it a go this weekend as well.

Rent it, because we're due for a good Found Footage flick.

Also
  • Colonia looks like a solid little Thriller about an evil Cult. Plus, Emma Watson is a QT, so we're in.
  • Jane Got a Gun was a solid Revenge Western that boasted a great shoot-out at the end, and some strong performances by Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton. If you like Westerns, then this one is definitely worth a rent.
  • Darling is an Indie Thriller that has been getting some positive buzz.
  • As for Conduit, Decay, and Donors... well, they're all B-grade flicks, but their trailers looked decent enough for us to include them here, so maybe they'd make for a fun watch when there's nothing else on?
  • Happy streaming!
