Manhunter has always been one of our favorite movies (we love Michael Mann), and we've been dying for it to be available in a Blu-ray version that does it justice... and now thanks to Scream Factory, it's finally happening!
Five years before Anthony Hopkins blew audiences away with his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in the brilliant Silence of the Lambs, there was Manhunter; the tale of FBI agent Will Graham's battle against The Tooth Fairy. And yes, Hannibal was there too.
William Peterson is perfect as Will Graham, and Brian Cox does an admirable job as Hannibal (even though he's not on-screen very much, and Anthony Hopkins did it better), but the best thing about Manhunter is that it's every bit as slick and stylish as it is intense and disturbing.
This is going to be a DAY ONE purchase for us on May 24th, and should be for you too.

I think this might be the same transfer as the MGM release.

That MGM transfer was shit, so I can't see SF just proting it over. I also can't find anything from them stating they're giving it a 2K or 4K transfer, so... If itturns out to be the sametransfer, I'll skip it.
ReplyDeleteGuess we'll have to wait for the firstreviews to hit in a few weeks.
