The synopsis for this one reminds us a lot of Avenged, another flick that hit VOD earlier this year, and while that's not a bad thing at all, we're hoping that it's not just another average possession/revenge movie. The trailer looks solid, so we're willing to give it the benefit of the doubt for now, and rent it with the hope that it rises above normal genre trappings, and gives us something special.
Infini: An elite 'search and rescue' team transport onto an off-world mining-facility to rescue Whit Carmichael, the lone survivor of a biological outbreak.
We love movies like Event Horizon and Pandorum, so basically Space + Horror = a happy Horror Club. This one actually looks pretty good, and it's been getting decent reviews, so we'll be streaming it sometime this weekend.
Maggie: A teenage girl in the Midwest becomes infected by an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns the infected into cannibalistic zombies. During her transformation, her loving father stays by her side.
The idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a loving father trying desperately to save his zombie-daughter's life intrigues us. We're suckers for emotional flicks, and any time a Genre movie can incorporate a massive amount of feels into its repertoire, we're almost always happy. Let's hope that Arnold and Abigail Breslin have that magic touch.
We really can't wait to sit down and watch this movie.
What We Do in the Shadows: Viago, Deacon, and Vladislav are vampires who are finding that modern life has them struggling with the mundane - like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.
One of our favorite movies of the year so far, WWDITS is finally available for North American audiences to watch. We're usually not ones for stupid comedy, and at first, this one didn't strike us as a laugh out loud funny at all. It grew on us though, and on repeat viewings, it cracks us up more and more.
If you like Mocumentaries ala This is Spinal Tap, then you're probably going to dig this movie. Rent it, and love it.
