*Be sure to click the pics to rent the movies, or watch their trailers. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?

BASKIN
"A squad of unsuspecting cops goes through a trapdoor to Hell when they stumble upon a Black Mass in an abandoned building."

Not only is Baskin one of the few Horror movies to come out of Turkey (at least on a large scale like this), but if advanced reviews are to be believed, then it's also one of the most revolting, uncomfortably disturbing movies to come along this year.

We're in.

Rent it, if you're brave.

THE FOREST
"A woman goes into Japan's Suicide Forest to find her twin sister, and confronts supernatural terror."

The Forest was a harmless, average, PG-13 movie that could have been way better, but wasn't all that bad. Check our review below for our full breakdown.

Rent it, if you like tame, PG-13 Horror.

THEY'RE WATCHING
"An American TV crew gets trapped in a centuries-old web of revenge, horror, and blood, when their home improvement show is attacked by angry Eastern European villagers out to kill the show's star."

I never in my life imagined reading the blurb "From the creators of Spongebob Squarepants..." while watching a trailer for a Horror movie, but that show was twisted enough, so I suppose it's only natural that it's creators end up doing something Genre like They're Watching.

The movie looks pretty light-hearted and amusing, and even a bit twisted, so we're sold on giving it a go. It's actually playing at an Arthouse Theater near us too, so that makes it extra cool.

Rent it, because it looks like a promising Indie.

  • 13 Times Evil looks like it's one of those Documentaries about Serial Killers that uses a lot of dramatic recreations to tell its story. It also looks low-budget, so not sure what to expect from it.
  • Bleed also looks like it's really low-budget, but the trailer doesn't look half bad.
  • Roboshark... just, no.
  • We'd probably check out Slenderman if it were on Netflix. Not sure if we'd watch it all, but we'd give it a shot.
  • Smothered looks like a fun Horror Comedy, what with its cast being made up of Horror legends and all.
