Trailer: Lights Out (2016)

"When Rebecca left home, she thought that her childhood fears were behind her. As a young girl growing up, she was never really sure of what was real when the lights went out at night. Now, her little brother Martin is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that jeopardized her safety and sanity. Holding a mysterious attachment to their mother, the supernatural entity has returned with a vengeance to torment the entire family."

A few years back, we saw a Horror short called Lights Out (watch it HERE), and it creeped the hell out of us; it was short, simple, and absolutely effective. When they announced that James Wan was set to produce a feature-length version of the short, I felt two ways about it:

  • Excited, because the short was so good, and James Wan does slow, quiet Horror so well.
  • And hesitant, because making a short, whether great or not, into a feature-length film that works anywhere near as well is a difficult task at best.

This trailer has eliminated the hesitant feeling from out minds though, because Lights Out looks like it's going to be a pretty great flick.

Check it out below.

Lights Out hits theaters on July 22nd.
