The final Tuesday of January is here, and unfortunately, it's a bit underwhelming on the Blu-ray & DVD front... unless you like in the UK, in which case, two of the coolest releases of the year have arrived.

*Be sure to click the pics to order yourself some flicks. Especially the first two.

Arrow Video Blu-ray releases are always great, even if they do tend to focus on more obscure movies, but this 3-Disc Limited Edition Blu-ray of Dario Argento's classic Giallo, Deep Red, may be the best thing they've ever done.

As with the Deep Red set above, Arrow Video has knocked it out of the park with this Blu-ray release of Hellraiser I-III. The first two Hellraiser movies are absolute staples for any Horror Collection, and you know what, the 3rd movie isn't all that bad either.

On the less exciting American side of the pond this week...

  • The Assassin has been called "magical" and "mesmerising" by critics, and it's one we that definitely want to check out.
  • Goosebumps looks like a great "Horror" movie for the kids.
  • Jack's Back is a cheesy old movie from 1988 where James Spader has to track down the reincarnation of Jack The Ripper or something. It was a fun flick, in that 80's Thriller sort of way.
  • We're also curious to check out In the Hell of Dixie and Survival Knife, but we'll probably rent those.
  • And everything else, as always, is a crap shoot.

    1. First, thank you for your support. It means a lot.

Second, whenever you click a link and buy something from Amazon through us, we get a (very) small percentage of the sale, depending on what the items are.

It really is very small, but when enough people do it, it helps.

  2. I feel so regretful that I have missed the Deep Red release. Didn't pay enough attention to it when the pre-order was announced. :( Hopefully, there'll be standard release just like Hellraiser trilogy.
