What's new on VOD this week?

VOD 550

Well, it looks like June is starting off strong with a bunch of new VOD releases in its first week.

Willow Creek is the one we'll be checking out first. We absolutely loved Bobcat Goldthwait's last genre entry, God Bless America (Review HERE), and we're dying to see what his unique sensibilities can bring to the Found Footage arena... especially when this flick involves Bigfoot. Willow Creek has garnered a ton of positive reviews and buzz so far, so we're expecting good things.

We're also really hyped to see Borgman; the Dutch Thriller that looks to be as odd as it does terrifying. Again, this one has a ton of positive buzz surrounding it, so we're excited to see how it plays out.

Torment is a new Thriller starring Katharine Isabelle and Stephen McHattie, two of our favorite genre talents. It looks like it's one of those "hider in the house" type of flicks, and with the cast involved, we'll gladly check it out.

Rigor Mortis is a crazy Hong Kong Vampire flick that was entertaining as hell. Brave the subtitles, and watch this one. If you like smart, well-made Asian Horror, you will love this one.

Joy Ride 3: Roadkill could end up being bad, but the first two flicks in the series were entertaining enough on a base level, so maybe this third one will be the same sort of harmless fun.

Ghostlight and Neverlake we may wait to catch when they hit Netflix.

No matter your tastes and preferences, at least you have a good amount of choices on VOD this week.

  1. I just finished watching Torment. It was decent. The masks worn are very cool and Isabelle is fun to watch. I also watched a movie called "Crawlspace" directed by Josh Stolberg (writer of Piranha 3D, Sorority Row). It reminded me at times of a Lifetime movie but it had some good kills and gratuitous nudity. Really, it is kind of similar to The Stepfather remake from a few years ago but more violent as it's rated R.
