Blu-ray & DVD: The Digital Dread Report for 5/2

In a world where streaming movies in HD is growing in popularity, it gets harder and harder to justify spending hard earned money on physical media. The fact is though that when done right, nothing makes a movie look or sound better on Blu-ray, so we bring you The Digital dread Report to help you figure out what's worth buying, and what you're better off streaming.

  • Rings is the "big" release of the week, and while we didn't think it was all that great (read our review HERE), it's no doubt going to be a popular title.
  • Beyond the Gates is finally hitting Blu this week, and for fans of new Horror flicks with a strong retro vibe, or Barbara Crampton, it might be a fun purchase.
  • Virus is a 90's flick that is finally seeing a Blu release thanks to Scream Factory, and it's a fun one that showed us that Jamie Lee Curtis still had the Scream Queen goods 20+ years after her career began. Might have to grab this one.
  • And we get a few good flicks on DVD this week too, with The Hexecutioners and The Barn. We've got a copy of The Hexecutioners, and will be reviewing it soon.
  • And as always, everything else is a crap-shoot.

Be sure to click the pics below to buy the movies, or even rent them. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?
