Available in the UK since last year, Arrow Video is finally brining The Scarlet Box to U.S. shores! It may not come out until December 13th, but it's coming, and that's what matters.
Arrow has knocked it out of the park with this Blu-ray release of Hellraiser I-III. The first two Hellraiser movies are absolute staples for any Horror Collection, and you know what, the 3rd movie isn't all that bad either. To package them all together in one boxed set, giving them brand new 2k transfers, and packing it with a ton of bonus material is a Horror fan's dream.
The words MUST OWN are an understatement when it comes to this set.

I'm going to start to have to buy Blurays again. I've been DLing movies for so long....
ReplyDeleteBut they rarely have any of the DC and never any extras.
I miss listening to the commentaries.
It's just so much easier to just click on a movie with my mouse, then having to pop in a disc.
A simple but great review. I feel your enthusiasm. Shame on me but I'm still yet to read the books. It was the films that I saw many moons ago that etched in to my mind and I believe they still stand up well today. In fact, maybe even better as the reliance on CGI for modern horror is damp. Not least, the depth of the story and backstory for the Hellraiser series is absurdly amazing. Modern horror is severely lacking.
ReplyDeleteIf my wife doesn't freak out then I'll be getting this boxset and as I'm in the UK, I feel I owe it to Mr Barker to invest in his creation.
