The Digital Dread Report for May 20th

dd

On the Blu-ray front, if you don't already own a copy of the 1981 classic, The Evil Dead, then now is the time for you to rectify that grievous error by grabbing a copy of this new Steelbook Edition. It's pretty snazzy looking.

You'll be hard pressed to find a PG-Rated movie that is more terrifying than is The Tourist Trap. It's one of our all-time faves, and is about as much of a Must Own as a Horror movie can get. Be warned though- this new BD version of the film is apparently missing 5 minutes that couldn't be ported over to Blu-ray for whatever reason, and it's been an issue for many purists of the film. If that doesn't bother you though, buy this one asap, and enjoy.

Grand Piano and Nosferatu The Vampyre are both great movies and are worth a look as well. Everything else is a rental for us.

On the DVD front, we can't help but be curious to see just what in the hell a movie with the title Bloodmarsh Krackoon has to offer; we're sure it's nothing good, but still, we're very curious.

A Christmas Carol, House of Dust, and Mischief Night look like they could be fun, and the Shark Attack Pack would be great for a beer-fueled Bad Movie Night.

As for Blackwater... well we just like the picture on the front.

*As always, click the pics for info on the flicks.

  1. Some of these look good. Regarding Christmas Carol, Amazon lists its release date as Oct. 21.

  2. Amazon changes dates like that all the time. If I'm remembering right, that Oct. 21st date will be the thrid time this year that A Christmas Carol has been slated for release.

We usually catch them in time, but once in a while they slip past us :)
