Ever since Scream changed the Horror Genre back in 1996, we've been hungering for another truly Meta Horror movie that would reach that same level of fun, and it looks like The Final Girls might be the one to satisfy that craving.
After early reviews, The Final Girls is sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has itself a 7.4 rating on IMDB. Now, those numbers are based off of a very small number of early reviews, but it bodes well for the movie's quality at the very least.
We'll be the first in line to see The Final Girls when it hits Theaters and VOD on October 9th.
Really looking forward to this one. I bet there'll be so many fun references and homages. Also, 7.4 rating as starter for a "movie like this" is surprising enough.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, especially on the 7.4 rating. That's crazy high for a movie like this.
DeleteI can't get over that this is an homage/satire of the slasher genre but it's a PG-13 film. Seems very counter-intuitive.
ReplyDeleteYeah. That means no nudity, but maybe we'll still get some decent gore out of it. Plus, you can't forget that when it hits Blu-ray/DVD, it will most likely be in Unrated form.
