Blu-ray & DVD: The Digital Dread Report for 10/3

In a world where streaming movies in HD is growing in popularity, it gets harder and harder to justify spending hard earned money on physical media. The fact is though that when done right, nothing makes a movie look or sound better on Blu-ray, so we bring you The Digital Dread Report to help you figure out what's worth buying, and what you're better off streaming.

October kicks off with a huge bang on the Blu-ray & DVD front, with so many great releases that it's hard to decide where to spend our $$$.

Arrow gives us new transfers of Children of the Corn and Don't Torture a Duckling; Synapse's long-awaited Blu-ray version of Popcorn is finally seeing daylight; Shortwave and The Survivalist are both great flicks; Buffy, 976-EVIL, and The Hidden are all gems of decades past that are finally available in 1080p glory... and that's only half of this week's crop!

It's a good week to be a Horror fan.

Be sure to click the pics below to buy the movies, or even rent them. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?
