Blu-ray & DVD: The Digital Dread Report for 6/20

In a world where streaming movies in HD is growing in popularity, it gets harder and harder to justify spending hard earned money on physical media. The fact is though that when done right, nothing makes a movie look or sound better on Blu-ray, so we bring you The Digital dread Report to help you figure out what's worth buying, and what you're better off streaming.

  • This week belongs to Arrow Video's The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, which is a Must Own release for fans of Gialli, Dario Argento films, and Horror in general.
  • Life definitely looks like our kind of Space Horror flick, and it's got an excellent cast, so we may take the 1080p plunge with this one.
  • Prevenge (read our review HERE) was a solid flick, and definitely one worth checking out.
  • Don't Knock Twice (read our review HERE) was decent enough, but not good enough to grab on Blu-ray for us.
  • The Lawnmower Man is one we never liked, but Scream Factory is giving it the Collector's Edition treatment for some reason. It's nothing like the Stephen King short story that it's "based on." Blah.
  • And everything else, as always, is a crap-shoot!

Be sure to click the pics below to buy the movies, or even rent them. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?
