Blu-ray & DVD: The Digital Dread Report for 11/8

November week 2 is not a huge week on the Blu-ray front by any means, but there are three releases that are worth spending our hard earned $$$ on, so we're not complaining.

*Be sure to click the pics below to buy the movies, or even rent them. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?

  1. Bubba Ho-Tep is our Blu-ray of the Month for November, and with good reason: it's an excellent movie that offers an uniquely funny and emotional experience that you just don't get from most Genre flicks; and it's finally being released on Blu-ray, 13 years after it hit theaters. It's a Cult Classic of the highest order, and it should be on every Horror lover's shopping list this week, and during The Holiday Season. Read our review HERE.
  2. Arrow Video is bringing a more obscure 80's Slasher to store shelves this week, with their release of The Initiation. It's a fun one, and definitely one that completeists and Slasher fans should give a chance.
  3. Daredevil is a solidly entertaining TV show, which is why I'm surprised that it took so long to see Season 1 released on Blu-ray. I mean, Season 2 premiered back in the Spring, so you'd figure that Season 1 would have been out by then... whatever the case, it's a cool show and it's worth owning on Blu-ray.
  4. And everything else, as always, is a crap-shoot.
