The VOD Releaes of August!

Alien: Covenant, It Comes at Night, Ghost House, The Monster Project, 68 Kill, Bedeviled... mark your calendars now, because August is shaping up to be a nice little warm-up for the impending Halloween Season!

• Release dates change all the time. Some of the upcoming movies below will end up shifting dates, or even going theatrical releases rather than hitting VOD straight off. Most of the dates are solid, but with some, we have to take our best guess, and hope that they see release.
  
• We will also be including some Sci-Fi, Action, Thriller, or otherwise compelling movies of interest on this list, because we need some variety in our lives.

The Summer Movie Season may be windig down, but there are still plenty of great genre pprojects hitting a local cineplex near you this August.

There's no bigger movie hitting theaters this month than The Dark Tower. Idris Elba doing insane gunslinging in an attempt to save the world from an evil Matthew McConaughey is just too fantastic not to get excited about, and we're there on day one.

Of course Wind River, Annabelle: Creation, 68 Kill and Polaroid look equally compelling, and we're seriously excited about Logan Lucky, and Detroit too.

Bottom line is that August is going to be a great month to go the the movies.

Of course, Release Dates can change at any time without notice, so take them with a grain of salt... *Links got to UHM or IMDB because they give great info on upcoming Horror projects.

Random Picture Round-Up: The August Releases Edition

We spend a lot of time here at THC searching for great pictures to use in our reviews, for our banners, and for whatever else strikes our fancy. It's not always easy finding the perfect screenshot, but when we do find pictures that make us laugh, say "What the hell?," or are just plain awesome, we save them.

Unfortunately, we never use them all, and so they just sit there in our picture folder, waiting... which is why we decided to start posting them in random groups on a weekly basis!

They might even help you to decide what to watch.

This week, we're focusing on the new releases in August that we most want to catch at the theater, on VOD, or on disc.
