UPDATED: Our Top 31 (or so) Upcoming Movies of 2017!

a
*This is an on-going post which is updated every Tuesday & Friday, to keep up with releases and release date changes.

We're always, ALWAYS, searching for newest and best Horror & Genre movies & TV shows to watch, which is why we work so hard to keep our Blu-ray & DVD, Theatrical, VOD, and TV release dates pages up to date.

One thing that we've never done though, until now, is kept a running list of the movies coming soon to a big or small screen near you that we want to see the most, and there are always a lot of those. With that in mind, below you'll find the Top 30-ish Upcoming Horror & Genre Projects that have us chomping at the bit like rabid fiends.

  • The movies listed below all have release dates that are set. As you know, some of them can, and will, change.
  • You'll only find new projects that will be Theatrical, VOD, and TV releases on this list. Nothing that's coming soon on disc (unless it’s some sort of Special Edition.)
  • We will include a few upcoming TV shows of the highest interest on the list, but keep them limited so as to focus more on movies.
  • You can click the pics to be taken to each movie's IMDB page, for release date info, etc...The release dates can also be found in the file names.
  • This list will be mainly comprised of upcoming Horror projects, but the occasional Superhero, Sci-Fi, or Action flick might break through. It's all relative to our interests.
  • We will add and remove titles from this list as needed, which will be pretty often.
  • Mark your calendars!

6/27- We’ve added Annabelle: Creation, Flatliners, Friend Request, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Limehouse Golem, Logan Lucky, The Monster Project, and Woodshock to the list, and also updated a few posters.

Short Film Saturday: NightmARes (2016)

It's got to be hard making short films, as no matter how great they may be, as they kind of disappear into the nether after their initial Festival Circuit runs are finished, if they are even lucky enough to get one.

That's why we've decided to showcase some of the many great Horror Shorts that are out there floating around the Interwebs: some are scary, some are fun, and every now and then, we even find one that's a work of art.

The bottom line is that plenty of time and effort went into making them, so they at least deserve to be seen, don't they?

"Put on a headset and step inside a frighteningly immersive environment, where all is not as it seems."

Short and sweet.

I'm not sure if the whole VR headset thing has really caught on or not yet, or it it ever will, but I've got to say that it's a pretty cool toy to play with. It's also got a lot of potential as a tool to use for Horror flicks and video games.

This short film is pretty clever, and aside from the lame, predictable final shot, it was fun to watch. Of course, the fact that Victoria Morrison is gorgeous to look at made it all the more compelling.

Not bad.

Short Film Saturday: Curve (2017)

It's got to be hard making short films, as no matter how great they may be, as they kind of disappear into the nether after their initial Festival Circuit runs are finished, if they are even lucky enough to get one.

That's why we've decided to showcase some of the many great Horror Shorts that are out there floating around the Interwebs: some are scary, some are fun, and every now and then, we even find one that's a work of art.

"Clinging to a smooth, curved surface high above a sentient abyss, a girl tries to cover the few feet back to safety without losing purchase and falling to her death."

Hold on tight for this one.

As someone who is not a big fan of heights, this short film puckered my b-hole.

Where is this girl, how did she get there, and what in the hell is going on? I have no answer to any of these questions, but I can say that this short film gave me the most intense 10 minutes that I've experienced in quite some time.

There's no dialogue spoken, and it's so simplistic in its set-up (and minimalistic in its execution), that I'm still not sure how it's so effective, but director Tim Egan has crafted himself a brilliant little piece of Horror art here. Props go to Laura Jane Turner too, who was great as the poor girl trapped on the edge of the abyss.

I have to say though, that I'd really like to know more about what was going on in this one. A sequel maybe? Please?
