Eh... OK???
I also love every...Hacksaw Ridge was... Eh... OK???
I also love everything that is Mel. Like EVERYTHING he touches is gold.
HOWEVER....
This movie was not the usual gritty type that I am used to seeing.
It had overly corny dialogue that didn't seem to fit. And just like HeartBreak Ridge with Eastwood, The Sargent doesn't go off to war with you. In fact in WW2 they would spread people out everywhere. Just that one simple fact that everyone from the start was in the battle seemed so unlikely(And I fucking hate when people say this, but...) it actually took me right out of the movie. The action was both over the top and really felt small at the same time. A guy actually picks up a blown up torso and uses it for a shield. Like come one dude, Really??
He should have mixed the movie he used with the tone on Full Metal Jacket and it would have perfect.
I think the problem is that people glorify that war, and call it our greatest generation....

Man, you want to watch something that will blow your fucking mind??

Netflix: Oliver Stones Untold US History. I've watched it all twice already. SOOOO fantastic. It really opened my eyes man, like WAY open. And this is all fact shit, not conspiracy shit, it's done with historians. Just saying, before you watch another war movie, watch it. ONly 12 episodes.Mkeithddchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12461896407976425868noreply@blogger.com
