What's New on VOD This Week? (12/5-12/8)

A whole slew of potentially good flicks hit VOD this week, and there may even be a few gems in the bunch.

*Be sure to click the pics to rent the movies, or watch their trailers. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?

*If you aren't already a member, you should really give Amazon Prime a shot, especially if you order movies on the regular like we do, because the free two-day shipping pays for itself after around 10 orders. Check it out for free HERE.

  • It's a tie between Most Beautiful Island and Radius for the movie we most want to check out on VOD this week. The former looks to be a artistic mood piece, while the latter boats one hell of an interesting premise, and they're the next two movies that we're watching.
  • Some call Mother! pure kino, while others decry it as overblown trash... and we're strangely compelled to watch it to see which one it truly is.
  • We're thinking that Kaleidoscope is going to be a twisty movie that messes with our minds, and that's all good with us.
  • Not exactly sure what to make of The Doll, but the fact that the girl who plays the titular character actually goes through her everyday life "being" a real life Barbie Doll has us intrigued.
  • Both The Hangman (originally dated for late December) and Monolith (not dated at all to our knowledge) showed up on VOD this week with no advanced warning. Pacino is getting old, but he might make The Hangman watchable, and Monolith gives us a very unique concept at the very least.
  • 24 Hours to Live looks like a knock off of John Wick. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.
  • The trailer for Apocalypse Road is decent enough, so maybe it will surprise us.
  • Happy Streaming!

  1. mother! IS pure kino (my second favourite film of the year). Of the rest, I have read rumors that Hangman has some insane elements to it, so I might just risk that one.
