What's New on VOD This Week? (3/29-4/1)

*Check out our other Release Date Pages: Blu-ray & DVD, Theatrical, VOD, TV.

The last movie that Wes Craven produced; and a new chapter in the story from a galaxy far, far away... There may only be two movies of note hitting VOD today, but at least they're good ones. Well, potentially.

*Be sure to click the pics to rent the movies, or watch their trailers. Or both. Or neither. It really depends on your mood, now doesn't it?

THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS
"A bored young woman in a sleepy community called Spearfish starts receiving photographs of brutally murdered young women. Are they real or staged? The culprit is either a serial killer or some creep with a sick sense of humour. "

We think that The Girl in the Photographs looks good on its own, and given the fact that it's the last project that Wes Craven ever worked on (R.I.P.), we're even more compelled to check it out.

Rent it because it looks good.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
"Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance."

The Force Awakens was the biggest movie on the planet in 2015, so what can we really say about it that hasn't been said already?

Well, we will say that we saw it once, and it was good, but it felt an awful lot like Star Wars (1977) to us. Like it was almost a re-imagining of that movie. As if that's going to stop anyone from renting it...

Rent it because it's Star Wars, and you know you want to.
