It's funny to imagine some of these movies being on a list of runner's up, because so many of them are great movies. OMG, Attack the Block and Paranormal Activity 3 weren't on out top 10 list!?! What is the world coming to? Listen, they were great movies, and could be on any number of top 10 list across the interwebs, just not ours. There were 10 movies that moved us, thrilled us, creeped us the hell out and make us happy as horror fans more than these also rans did.

Wow looking at this list it's really sunk in what a great year for horror it's been.
That's the reason I don't get too nostalgic about old horror films. There's never been a "golden age" for horror (slashers yes) but as genre fans lets enjoy the present!
I suppose, Anon, that the golden age of horror tends to be whenever someone was growing up; bold statement, but if you think about it, so many movies that we love and cherish kinda sucked, but we grew up with them, so they are beloved.
It really was a good year though.
